Watts, Alan
Alan Watts (1915-1973) tornou-se mundialmente conhecido como palestrante e autor-intérprete do Zen-budismo e da filosofia indiana e chinesa. Tendo sido reverendo da Igreja Episcopal na década de 1940, abandonou o cargo para estudar na Academia Americana de Estudos Asiáticos (atual Instituto Californiano de Estudos Integrais). Logo conquistou a reputação de ser um dos mais originais filósofos do século XX, tornando-se autor de mais de 20 livros sobre filosofia e filosofia da religião, publicados em muitas línguas e países. Grande palestrante, Watts era presença frequente nas rádios e televisão nos anos de 1960. Faleceu em 1973, mas seus temas atuais continuam presentes em vídeos e citações de fãs que circulam na internet. |
