Carpentier, Alejo
ALEJO CARPENTIER nasceu em 1904, foi um escritor, músico e jornalista cubano de origem franco-suíça. Viveu longos períodos na França e na Venezuela. Retornou a Cuba em 1959, com a vitória da Revolução. Recebeu o Prêmio Miguel de Cervantes no ano de 1977. Dele, a Companhia das Letras publicou O século das luzes e Concerto barroco. Carpentier morreu em 1980, em Paris, e foi enterrado em Havana, Cuba. |
