Du Bois, W. E. B.
W. E. B. Du Bois nasceu em Massachusetts, nos Estados Unidos, em 1868 e morreu em 1963 em Acra, em Gana. Um dos intelectuais mais influentes de seu tempo, foi sociólogo, historiador, ficcionista, poeta e editor. Formou-se em 1888 pela Universidade Fisk, e recebeu um segundo diploma por Harvard em 1890. Depois de dois anos de estudo na Universidade de Berlim, concluiu seu doutorado em Harvard em 1895. Autor de mais de vinte livros, Du Bois foi também um importante ativista pela igualdade racial. |
