Amado, Jorge
JORGE AMADO nasceu em 10 de agosto de 1912, em Itabuna (BA). Começou a escrever profissionalmente como repórter aos catorze anos, em veículos como Diário da Bahia, O Imparcial e O Jornal. Estreou na literatura com o romance O país do Carnaval (1931). Em 1945, foi eleito deputado federal pelo PCB – partido com o qual romperia anos depois. É autor de clássicos como Gabriela, cravo e canela, Tenda dos milagres e Tieta do Agreste. Faleceu em 2001, alguns dias antes de completar 89 anos. |
